How to Navigate ?

There are 6 spatial degrees of freedom for an avatar, and 3 alternated methods to navigate:
  • with the mouse inside the 3D area
  • with the keyboard
  • with the buttons inside the GUI

Mouse

Press the left button of the mouse and keep it pressed, a translucid control menu appears in the 3D area with arrows indicating directions. So, by moving the mouse you can easily navigate. You must keep the focus inside the 3D area.

Keyboard

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard:
keys Movement
key_up move forward
key_down move backward
key_right turn right
key_left turn left
key_insert look up
key_delete look down
key_pageup rise up
key_pagedown fall down
key-'l' roll left
key-'r' roll right
key-control|alt|meta-left translate left
key-control|alt|meta-right translate right
key_home stand up
key_end or space accelerate movement
key-'b' throw a bullet
key-'d' throw a dart
key-'+' zoom in
key-'-' zoom out
key-'=' zoom off

Buttons

On the bottom of the GUI, you can use buttons represented by arrows to navigate in all the directions, the focus must keep in the GUI area.

Actions

To identify objects, click on the <button1> or <button3> of the mouse, the name of the pointed object will appear, maybe with a pushdown menu containing buttons to activate an action on this object (for example open/close for a door).

Web objects can be displayed in a scene as an exhibition room and eventually be opened with a local browser to visit related Web pages.
